Tree-top adventure course 20 minutes from Embrun
Embrun is the second-largest town in the Hautes-Alpes. Its Notre-Dame du Réal Cathedral and medieval streets attract tens of thousands of tourists every summer. Just 20 minutes up the mountain, the larch forest of Réallon offers family-friendly adventure activities away from the crowds.
Why the Réallon tree-top adventure park is the top choice from Embrun
There are two tree-top adventure parks within a 30-kilometer radius of Embrun. Crots Branches, located 15 minutes southwest on the shores of the lake, has been open for a long time. The Parc Aventure Réallon is opening this summer 20 minutes to the north, but at an elevation of 1,560 meters instead of 600 meters.
This difference in elevation makes all the difference in the height of summer: when the lakeside trails are sweltering, the larch forests of Réallon offer temperatures that are 5 to 7 °C cooler. It’s the perfect choice for a family morning of exercise in the heart of summer in the Embrun region.
Route: Embrun to Réallon
- Leave Embrun via Avenue de la Libération (D9)
- Head toward Réallon on the D9, a steady climb
- The drive is 13 km, or about 20 minutes under normal conditions
- Free parking 200 meters from the visitor center, shaded
There is no direct public transportation access. The Lignes Express Régionales (LER) bus connects Embrun to Gap but does not stop at the Réallon resort. A car, taxi, or carpool is required.
What to do before or after the tree-top adventure in Embrun
The perfect itinerary: tree-top adventure course in the morning (10 a.m.), picnic on-site or at the lake, swimming at the Chanteloube base (a 25-minute walk back down), then return to Embrun to explore the historic center in the late afternoon. A full day out for the family for less than €100 for 2 adults and 2 children.
For larger groups or birthday parties, please contact the park directly for a quote.
